We believe purchasing fine jewelry should feel thoughtful and straightforward. Below are answers to the questions we receive most often. If you don't find what you're looking for, please contact us—we're always happy to help.
Are your pieces handmade?
Every VANIE piece is individually hand finished. While our process may incorporate both contemporary and traditional methods, each piece is completed by hand, resulting in subtle variations in surface, proportion, finish, and texture. These characteristics are a natural part of the making process and contribute to the individuality of every piece.
Are all pieces made to order?
Most VANIE pieces are made to order and are individually crafted after an order is placed.
One-of-a-kind pieces and ready-to-ship items will always be clearly identified on their respective product pages.
How long will my order take?
Most made-to-order pieces require approximately 3–6 weeks to complete.
Because every piece is made by hand, production timelines may occasionally vary. If delays occur, we'll keep you informed throughout the process.
Do you offer rush orders?
In some cases, yes.
Rush orders may be possible depending on our production schedule, material availability, and the nature of the piece. If you have a specific deadline, please contact us before placing your order.
Can I customize an existing design?
Yes.
Many of our designs can be customized with different gemstones, proportions, engravings, or other modifications. Every project begins with a conversation to determine what is possible before production begins.
Do you create completely custom pieces?
Yes.
We offer bespoke commissions that begin with an initial consultation. We'll discuss your ideas, timeline, budget, and materials before preparing a proposal.
Once the scope of the project has been agreed upon, all custom commissions proceed under a separate Custom Order Agreement outlining the design, production timeline, payment schedule, revisions, and other project-specific terms.
Do you offer engraving?
Yes.
Engraving is available on select pieces where the design allows. If you're interested in adding engraving, please contact us before placing your order.
What materials do you use?
Our pieces are crafted from solid precious metals and individually sourced natural gemstones unless otherwise stated on the product page.
Each product page specifies the materials used for that particular design.
Where do your gemstones come from?
Our gemstones are individually sourced by VANIE through a trusted network of suppliers from around the world.
Every stone is selected for its individual character, color, and quality. Because gemstones are natural materials, variations in color, pattern, inclusions, and transparency should be expected.
Gemstones may also appear differently depending on lighting conditions, photography, and individual screen settings.
Are your ancient coins authentic?
Yes.
Every ancient coin used by VANIE is an authentic historical object.
Surface wear, irregular edges, patina, tool marks, and other signs of age contribute to each coin's historical character and are preserved rather than altered.
No two ancient coin pieces are ever identical.
Can rings be resized?
Many rings can be resized, though some designs cannot due to their construction.
The first resize is complimentary for eligible designs. Customers are responsible for shipping costs associated with resizing.
If you're unsure about sizing before placing an order, we're happy to help.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes.
We offer both domestic and international shipping.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or other charges required by their destination country.
How are orders shipped?
Orders are shipped via FedEx unless otherwise arranged.
Every shipment is fully insured for its full value, and signature confirmation is required upon delivery.
Tracking information is provided once your order has shipped.
What happens if my package is lost?
If a package is confirmed lost by the shipping carrier—not simply delayed in transit—VANIE will work directly with the carrier to resolve the claim. Once the claim has been completed, we'll work with you to determine the most appropriate resolution for your order.
Can I return my order?
Eligible returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery.
Once approved, the item must be shipped back within 21 days of the original delivery date.
Returned pieces must be unworn, unaltered, and in their original condition.
Please see our Shipping & Returns page for complete details.
Are custom pieces returnable?
Custom pieces are created specifically for each client and are subject to a separate Custom Order Agreement.
Because every commission is unique, the terms governing returns, cancellations, revisions, and any applicable fees are outlined in that agreement before production begins. We encourage you to review these terms carefully and contact us with any questions prior to approving your commission.
What does your warranty cover?
Every VANIE piece is covered by a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects in workmanship.
The warranty applies only to defects resulting from the construction of the piece.
It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, neglect, improper care, impact, alterations performed by another jeweler, or normal wear.
Examples of non-warranty damage include bent rings, crushed settings, chipped stones caused by impact, or damage resulting from everyday accidents.
Can my jewelry be repaired?
Yes.
We encourage all repairs and maintenance to be handled by VANIE whenever possible. This helps preserve the integrity of the piece and ensures repairs are completed using the same standards with which it was originally made.
Repair costs outside of warranty coverage are assessed individually.
How should I care for my jewelry?
We recommend removing jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or exposing it to chlorine, harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, or unnecessary impact.
Store each piece separately when not being worn to minimize scratching.
Over time, precious metals naturally develop a softer surface and patina through regular wear. These changes are part of the life of the piece and reflect its continued use.
