Custom Orders
Every custom piece begins with a conversation.
Whether you're modifying an existing VANIE design or creating something entirely new, our custom process is collaborative, thoughtful, and guided by the same principles of craftsmanship that define every piece we make.
Because each commission is created specifically for an individual client, every project is approached on its own terms—from the selection of materials to the final details of construction.
Initial Consultation
Custom orders begin with an initial consultation to discuss your ideas, timeline, budget, and overall direction.
During this conversation we'll determine the scope of the project, discuss materials and gemstones, answer questions, and confirm whether your request is possible before moving forward.
Modifying an Existing Design
Many existing VANIE designs can be customized.
Depending on the design, modifications may include different gemstones, proportions, engravings, or other adjustments. Every request is reviewed individually before production begins.
Bespoke Commissions
We also create one-of-a-kind pieces designed specifically for individual clients.
Every bespoke commission begins with a collaborative design process and results in a piece made exclusively for its intended owner.
Gemstone Sourcing
All gemstones are individually sourced by VANIE through a trusted network of suppliers from around the world.
For custom commissions, clients will review and approve their selected gemstone before production begins.
Because gemstones are natural materials, variations in color, inclusions, transparency, and pattern are expected. Stones may also appear differently depending on lighting conditions and display settings.
Once a gemstone has been approved and production has begun, it cannot be exchanged.
Design Proposal
Once the design direction has been established, VANIE will prepare a proposal outlining the project, materials, timeline, and pricing.
Production begins only after the proposal has been approved.
Deposit
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required once the design proposal has been approved and production begins.
The remaining balance is due prior to shipment.
Split payments may be arranged upon request and approval.
Design Revisions
Two design revisions are included during the design process.
Additional revisions beyond the included two may incur additional design fees depending on the scope of the requested changes.
Production
Most custom commissions require approximately 3–6 weeks to complete, though timelines may vary depending on the complexity of the project.
Because every piece is individually made by hand, production schedules occasionally change. Should delays occur, we'll keep you informed throughout the process.
Completion & Shipment
Once your commission has been completed, we'll contact you to arrange final payment and shipment.
Every shipment is fully insured, shipped via FedEx unless otherwise arranged, and requires a signature upon delivery.
Tracking information will be provided once your order has shipped.
Cancellations
Because every custom commission is unique, cancellations are governed by the Custom Order Agreement prepared for each project.
Ownership of Designs
All original VANIE designs, drawings, sketches, CAD files, renderings, product concepts, and related intellectual property remain the exclusive property of VANIE INC.
The purchase of a custom piece does not transfer ownership of any associated intellectual property unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
